Overview

Frank Peay has been with Mid-South since September 1980 and is currently an Engineering Manager of Field Operations. His primary responsibilities include the oversight of all personnel assigned to duties outside of the home office. He deals with all personnel matters and client relations in regards to the field personnel and is responsible for ongoing training in the areas of telecommunications and safety for these personnel.

Prior to working with Mid-South, Frank was an Outside Plant Engineer and Project Manager for Burnup & Sims, Inc. from March 1977 to 1980. Frank was responsible for assignment/dispatching of personel for ALLTEL Florida in Live Oak, Florida. This encompassed assignment of all service orders and repair calls in 13 exchanges of the old North Florida Telephone Co.

Frank's prior experience comes from a long background of Outside Plant Planning and Engineering for the Rock Hill Telephone Company (now known as Comporium) where he worked from June 1965 to March 1977. His positions included: Construction Lineman, Installation and Repair Technician, Central Office Technician, Installation and Repair Supervisor, and Outside Plant Planning and Engineering.

Frank has both an Electrical and Electronics degree from York Technical College and has completed multiple training courses in VF Transmission & Design, Data Transmission and Design, Fundamentals of Fiber in OSP, and Fundamentals of FTTP. A few of the projects Frank has been involved with were cooridinating the SouthernNet (MCI) fiber optic project from Georgia to Charlotte, NC and on to Culpepper and Lunchburg, VA, as well as coordinated numerous ALLTEL (now Windstream) outside plant projects over $100k under Rural Utilities Service guidelines.
