Mid-South Consulting Engineers, Inc. is a professional engineering firm that has provided planning, engineering and consulting services to the telecommunications industry.  Most of our clients are independent telephone companies.  Our client base also includes competitive companies, interexchange carriers, CATV companies, Bell Operating Companies and private corporations.

Mid-South was formed in 1960 by W.E. Thaxton and R.T. Payne, two experienced professional engineers with roots in the development of nationwide telephone services.

Mid-South specializes in designs that are tailored to our clients based on the specific requirements of the project. The network designs are based on criteria such as business cases, customer demographics, service to be offered, geographic characteristics and the existing network architecture.
